I’ve had it for about 2 months now and it is an Awesome TV! My only gripes are that shadows or dark areas of subjects on the screen tend to black out instead of shadow, the other is that is has a lamp instead of LED, but hey, at $999 it still earns 5 stars. Other than that the picture is AMAZING. The TV has a slim bevel which is VERY nice, color is vibrant and very sharp. The TV’s light engine is not noisy at all. High def signals (from Xbox360 or satellite box) looks so incredibly crisp. The TV does not have the bowing issue I have read about.br /br /The sound from the TV is not good but I never bought it for the sound (I have a sound system).

Well I brought this plasma about a month ago, I’d definately give it five star rating!!! I didn’t get it for a steal of a deall @ the $800.00 bucks like someone else did anyway, At first didn’t make any buzzing noise with the regular cable box so opted to get the hd cable box thats the first thing I notice buzzing just like other complained about, instead of calling the store I called Samsung directly ran a test still got buzzing,So samsung wanted to set me up with in house service, I then called the store that I puchased it spoke to the man that sold it to me he said if it wasn’t making the buzzing with the regular box itwasn’t the tv, he explained to the wires that the cable co. gives you were poor quality couldv’e been creating the buzzing so he suggested in buying the HDMI cable a good one monster cable preferably, so I went bought one 4ft runs about $100.00 8ft is about $119.00, Iwent with the 8 footer it ran me $128.00 change, Any hooked up “BINGO” that what it was, once I turned it on the pictures clarity sound was “EXCEPTIONAL” If I can give anyone advice go the better cables especialy when dealing such a nice plasma, “BEING CHEAP CAN ONLY GIVE YOU CHEAP RESULTS”

I bought this TV year and half ago for $1200 shipped. At that time this was a considerable bargain to get a 50 inch high def TV at this price point. I’m mostly satisfied with this TV. Here’s what I think of it:br /br /Pros :br / - Big screenbr / - True 1080p (1900×1080) resolutionbr / - Cheaper than 50inch LCDs and plasmasbr / - Awesome connectivity (3 HDMI inputs, 1 PC, 2 composites etc)br / - USB port (For firmware upgrades or watching ur pics/or listening to your music). Honestly i’ve used this once in so longbr / - Very good contrast ration (again considering the price point)br / - Slim profile. br / - Super light - Not that you’ll be carrying around TV of this size :-)br /br /Cons :br / - Horrible sound from the in built speakers. br / - Bowing problem. it’s hardly noticeable unless there are horizontal lines on the screenbr / - Terrible Off-axis viewing performance. I don’t care about viewing from side but i’ve put the TV on a 3 foot high table and i watch tv sitting on floor always. It’s not even half as bright/clear from this angle.br / - Limited life of the light bulb (haven’t faced this yet)br /br /Overall, I would say this is a pretty good TV for the money.br /

This set blew out on me on the 2nd day of owning it. Well it didn’t blow out completely, just left a 5″ thick vertical bar going up and down the right side of the set. And if that wasn’t bad enough, when I called Samsung they referred me to a local electronics company that specialize in fixing these sets. Well, that company didn’t have the right parts to fix the panels….Why you ask? Because Amazon sold me a set that was manufactured in Canada. Companies in the US don’t fix sets built in Canada because Canada uses slightly different parts.br /So I ended up just returning the thing and purchasing a set at BestBuy.br /br /A little info for everyone buying expensive electronics from Amazon.com. **If you live in the U.S.A. don’t except any items with a Model number that ends with a “C”. C = Cananda.
