This TV is amazing for the price. The picture is crystal clear, especially on HD. I bought it at Sears also for $799. The other comment about it not having an optical audio input is true, but I just ran my optical digital cable from my DVR cable box straight to my sound system and it works great. The picture is wonderful when playing DVDs as well, although I do not have a BluRay player.br /The 720 isn’t a big deal on this model. My parents have a 1080 Phillips and on HD, the picture is just as good on this Samsung. The 1080 is slightly better on SD channels, but they paid $1100 more. I did lots of research before buying, and you can not beat the picture quality and clarity for this price. The colors are amazing, the blacks are very black. We had to adjust the brightness and color a little, and the TV has many different settings such as sports and cinema which you can switch for better color on different types of shows.br /I would highly recommend this model.

Very happy with this tv. Easy to use with a great picture, for the price I would recommend it to anyone.

This tv is phenomenal. Excellent picture even in a bright room that gets a lot of sunshine. More than enough inputs. I have it next to another tv and the picture quality and colors are just sooo much better on this Samsung. Can’t comment on the sound quality as I run the sound through a separate tuner. Buy it…it’s amazing and extremely cheap for this size and quality.

The company who delivered was very professional. They carried the (heavy) TV where I wanted it in the house and asked me if I wanted it unpacked. I did so they carefully unpacked it, installed the base and carried away all the packing material. I don’t know if this is standard or not. I was expecting them to drop it onto my porch after signing for it, to be honest.br /br /The instuctions were very easy to read but you really don’t even need them. The TV on screen menu takes you through setup and in just a few minutes, I had an excellent picture just through “over the air” channels. After hooking up cable, I couldn’t believe it. I was in TV heaven!br /br /I went with the 720P version of this HDTV after realizing that Blu-Ray and digital TV have a long way to go before the coolest technologies come out to market. Besides, Consumer Reports rated this model at the top of the 720P models available and it’s a Samsung. I figured this would not be my last HDTV so I decided to save some money now. I wanted something that would provide me with an excellent picture up to 1080i while I waited for the HDTV market to mature. br /br /I cannot see what the draw is for re-purchasing all your old movies again in Blu-Ray format when most people wouldn’t even notice the picture difference between 1080i and 1080P. Instead, I decided to up-convert my huge DVD collection (with my $36.00 up-converting DVD player) and wait for Blu-Rays to be available for a buck from Redbox. By that time, the cost of the players should be down to $50.00 or so.br /br /The picture quality is truly remarkable even at 720P. I have friends with 1080P HDTVs and I believe my picture is clearer and brighter than theirs and quite frankly, any TV I have seen. There is a glare issue. You’ll want to install the TV with that in mind but I don’t think the problem is any worse than it was with the old style CRT TVs. You just notice it a bit more because the screen is so much larger.br /br /I can’t speak for reliability because I have only had it a couple of weeks but if it’s anything like all my other Samsung LCD products, I’ll be very happy. So far, all the research indicates they have worked out all the of the problems associated with the original plasma HDTVs. Samsung has a section about this in the user manual in case you want to play it safe.br /br /By all means, buy this product. You won’t be sorry!

I couldn’t be happier with this purchase. I’ve had the tv for about one month. I love it. The picture is awesome. The controls are simple. The quality seems great. Highly recommend.

I received my Tv on time was it was broken, but thanks to Crutchfield i received a full refund.

After doing TONS of research and going back and forth on 1080 vs. 720, I went for this beauty. I don’t have a Blue-Ray player and I don’t own a PS3 (yet) so I couldn’t take advantage of 1080. Broadcast HD TV is 720 anyway. I have owned this set for about 10 months and at the time the same size LCD was $500 more and the screens on the LCD’s of the day just were not as bright as plasma IMO.br /br /Best thing to do, go to your local electronic store, compare TV’s side by side and then buy it on Amazon. First of all Amazon rocks! Customer service is awesome. 2 weeks after we bought the TV it dropped $150 and when I called Amazon they gave me the difference back! This is only good for up to 30 days after your purchase date. No tax for us in CA, and Free white glove delivery. TV came on time, delivery company called me to schedule an appointment for delivery. The delivery guy brought the TV in and help set it up and even cleaned up the mess. br /br /TV was a breeze to setup. I have HD Comcast cable running in via composite cables, a Wii via composite, a media center PC into the VGA port and a DVD player plugged in through one of the HDMI pots. Couldn’t get coax to work directly connected to the TV but no big deal, I watch it through my cable box anyway.br /br /I read online that you had to “break in” a plasma or you would have burn in early on. I had the TV’s settings dialed in to my room brightness but still kept it at 50% brightness. Even at that setting the TV was still VERY bright! Yes it is a plasma TV and YES there will be burn in at some point. After playing Guitar Hero III for hours with friends yes there is a ghost of the game burned into the screen. Flip the channel to any HD FULL SCREEN channel and in about 10 minutes, its all gone. br /br /Early on we would run the anti-burn feature on the TV when we went to bed to keep burn in from being permanent. Set the sleep timer for 30-60 min, and start the scrolling anti-burn feature. The next morning when we turned on the TV, it was all gone.br /br /All in all, I love it!br /br /PROS:br /Great picturebr /Great colorbr /Looks good on or offbr /Sound is impressive for such small speakersbr /Lots of inputsbr /br /CONS:br /Burn in after gaming or when watching sports (score board or news ticker)br /Plasma uses alot of energy vs LCDbr /Plasma puts off alot of heat for a TV. Keep airflow open around TVbr /VERY heavy, need two people to move safelybr /br /

This is a very good TV for the price! My mom has a Samsung and spent over $3,000.00 on hers, and the quality of this one definitely outshines hers! I just upgraded to an HD cable box and the picture is very good. I gave this 4 starts because burn in and ghosting happens fairly easy on this TV. You have to be VERY careful if you are watching channels that have a logo on it for more than 40 minutes. I even have the contrast/brightness/color, etc. all below 50. My kids love to watch Nick, and I had the Nick logo stuck on my TV for days… (after watching for only 1 hour) Another time I was switching DVD’s and my DVD player was on and the word “Pioneer” was burned into the TV in bright pink for 3 days; it was left on screen for no longer than 2 minutes. Other than that…great deal! Great picture!
