I just installed this wall mount for use with a 42″ Philips plasma screen TV. As you can see from the picture, the mount basically consists of two plates connected by an articulating arm, which provides the swivel action. The TV is secured to the larger of the two plates via the supplied brackets, which provide the tilt action. The mount itself comes pre-assembled and thus requires only installation onto the wall; similarly, the brackets are also pre-assembled (with the exception of a pair of adjustment knobs for the tilt mechanism which for some reason are not mentioned at all in the installation instructions), and need only be screwed into the back of the TV.br /br /Despite some headaches presented by the construction of my wall (I rent an apartment in an old building in Brooklyn where there is apparently an inch-and-a-half of plaster overlying drywall and studs), I was able to install the smaller plate into the wall using some cheap-but-sturdy toggler anchors from the local hardware store, without a problem.br /br /Where I did run into a problem was when I mounted the TV to the larger of the two plates. Basically, though the mount seems solidly constructed and holds up just fine, it seems as though the articulating arm isn’t strong enough at the joint, which causes a distinct and noticeable (about 3-5 degrees or so) right-sided droop to the TV; this despite the fact that the smaller plate affixed to the wall is perfectly level. Now, given that the mount is rated for TVs up to 55″, I don’t think my 42″ TV is outside of its reported weight range. So, given that the wall plate is level, and eliminating the weight of the TV as the source of the problem, I can only chalk it up to a design or manufacturing defect.br /br /Now, the droop makes the whole thing look kind of sloppy, though in truth it doesn’t really affect the viewing experience all that much; it’s slight enough so that you don’t notice it at all once you’re engrossed in whatever it is you’re watching. And this is definitely the cheapest tilt-and-swivel mount I’ve been able to find, which offsets a little bit of my disappointment. In sum, I’d say I’m satisfied enough that I won’t bother to go through the hassle of trying to return it, but if I were to do it all over again I might have saved up for a slightly more expensive model from a different manufacturer.

This was much easier to install than I had feared, having read lots of reviews of wall mount products being difficult to install. Two of us installed in less than 1/2 hour. It even has a level built into the product so you can see immediately if the mount is level or not as you screw it into the wall.br /It holds my TV perfectly level and is easy to move about.

This mount is sturdy and well built. It was easy to install into my traditional TV cabinet. br /br /The mount adjusts in several different ways, allowing for easy mounting of my Panasonic Viera, which I was told would not be easy to find a mount for as it does not have standard mount holes.br /br /The only trouble I have has was my error, where I did not attach the mount to the cabinet perfectly vertical. Now when the arm is completely extended and the TV is turned its not level. Not really a big deal as I only have it in that position when fiddling with cables.br /br /Overall I’m very happy.

I just finished installing this mount and my 50″ Panasonic plasma. I bought the articulating mount so I could position the TV in the corner. This means I mounted it towards the corner of one wall and used the articulation to move it to a diagonal position where the edges are flush against adjacent walls. br /br /This mount was very easy to install. Instructions were great. I really liked the built-in level. It was easy to get the plasma on the mount with two people. br /br /The one issue I had was with the tv actually being level. The tv is level when it’s flat against the wall. When I articulate it out a bit and to the right, the right edge dips. It’s obvious enough to bother me. What I did was adjust one of the brackets that bolt to the tv. I purposely had one bracket one position different (higher) than the other. This resulted in leveling the tv when articulated. However, when I put the tv back against one wall, it’s grossly off level. That’s ok for me because the permanent spot is in the corner which is level. I think the problem is due to the weight pressing down on the arm. Not much you can do about it.

Our HP 42 inch LCD Media Smart TV was installed using the “MountsPro Tilting Articulating Arm Universa LCD/Plasma Wall Mount Bracket. We used it inside an Armoire and we are 100% PLUS HAPPY with this mount. At C.C chain store it was, and I kid not, $500.br /br /Thia arm is well made, easy to use and smooth operating at any confrigulation. I had a friend install it and he had no problems. I can not review a wall mount at this time but we plan to move and will purchase another MountsPro by CHEETAH MOUNTS.br /br /Thank you Cheetah for the great product at a great value.

This wall mount is of great quality and we got it right away. We read a couple of the reviews before we purchased it and they were very helpful in preparing us for a 5 to 10 degree play in the mount, so we were able to take care of that with a small adjustment while installing. Looks great and we love it.br /br /E D.

I bought this mount for a 50-inch plasma screen (80-100 lbs). It seems fairly sturdy, but I am not sure if I would trust it with the articulating arm fully extended due to the excess torque pulling at the wall bolts. The instructions that came with the unit were rather lame and seemed to be missing some relevant content. I think that using a stud finder is essential to install this or any other mount that is going to be used to support a heavy TV.br /br /The mount comes with several assorted bolts for attaching the mounting arms to the back of the TV, but some were too long to use and some were almost too short to ensure enough thread engagement after tightening things. If someone needs to use the 8mm bolts, they might want to take a trip to the hardware store and pick up some mid-length ones.br /br /The wall bracket comes with its own level indicator. However, I noticed some play in the articulating arm. Therefore, the part attached to the wall may be perfectly level, and the TV may hang at an angle due to the arm being off 5-10 degrees after bearing the load of a heavy TV. Before installing, I would recommend pulling on the articulating arm while retracted and try to rotate it to see how much play there is, and then compensate for any angle adjustment when drilling the stud bolt holes. The wall bracket may not be quite level, but the TV plate should be level (you can check by resting a separate level on this part). If the TV is mounted and seems to be listing to one side, there are four Allen head bolt in the middle of the TV mounting plate that may be able to be loosened to rotate things, but the TV will have to be removed from the mount to make the adjustment.

This mount works wll for my 52″ TV. Shop around. You can find a better price for a similar mount. I paid $145. You can get one for $90.

This works great for my LCD TV (46″ Samsung @50 lbs), however, I don’t know if I would trust it with a heavier Plasma TV. There are only 4 lag screws that connect to wood studs, which wasn’t enough for me. The wall it is mounted to has a closet behind, so I actually used 3 extra bolts and bolted it through the wall to angle iron on in the closet. Now, if the TV falls off, either the wall fell down or the product (swing arm) failed. Besides the connection to the wall, I don’t know if the swing arm could support 150 lbs 20″ from the wall.

Got the product fast, was happy with it. After I figured it out it went up really fast, 30-45 minutes. It has held the TV and not fallen.br /br /DO NOT BUY: It was defective which I realized when it got up on the wall. The seller took 5 days to reply to my email and when they did they just sent me a 1-800 # to call. Then when I insisted they fix it, they just sent me an email with an RMA # and said send it back at my expense. No “we are sorry” “how can we help”. VERY RUDE! None responsive to any emails. They still have not written me back in 8 or 9 days now. I have this product up on my wall but can barely pull it out from the wall. It takes a lot of effort because it’s too tight and not fluid.br /br /Sorry I was really hoping it would be a good one and it probably is, I would just avoid this seller because if by chance you get a bad one, you’re stuck with another $30 shipping bill to send it back and hope they send you a good one.br /br /This is what I would go with instead!br /CHEETAH MOUNTS PLASMA LCD TV ARTICULATING DUAL ARM WALL MOUNT FOR 32-63″ DISPLAYS UP TO 180LBS BLACK

This mount would definatly be sold for 200$ at any big box store. It is sturdy and solid with plenty of bolts, washers, spacers, etc. Easy to instal, total confidence in placing big 50″ plasma. One of the main reasons that I chose this one was all the mounting holes on the base plate. This ensured that I could mount the tv in the middle of the wall even if the studs were not on center.
