That’s what my wife said after a couple of weeks of owning this TV. A lot of forums like AVS talk about the “wife acceptance factor” or WAF. This TV has the highest WAF of any electronic item I have ever owned. I really like the TV a lot too. It just wows anyone who sees it.br /br /I use it in a home theater set up with a separate sound system so I can’t comment much on the sound. Other features such as the network connectivity are OK, but I don’t use it much other than to see that it works while checking out the features and settings. br /br /Movies are a great experience with this TV. Sports and regular TV are nothing short of spectacular when available in high quality high definition. The standard definition programming is as good as I have seen on any other TV.br /br /I was very satisfied with Amazon’s price and free white glove delivery. It arrived a few days before they originally promised. The guys delivering this monster set it up on my waiting stand and offered to remove the box. I did not test it until later due to a 2 hour ride in the truck when the temperature was about 8 degrees. When I did everything was perfect.br /br /We have had this TV for about 3 months now with no issues. Just big smiles.

I got this TV in the Best Buy bundle they offered with the Xbox 360. For the price, I had absolutely not expected how great this TV is. The picture quality is definitely amazing, and I still can’t find a TV in any display stores with better HD quality so far. Like all plasmas, it does show the true black perfectly and there’s no motion blur what-so-ever in any of the video games or sports programming I’ve played so far. It also has inputs galore (3 HDMIs, VGA/sound PC input, optical audio output) which makes it easy to hook up to all the different components. I’m also able to cut down on extra cables by utilizing the optical sound output to my Denon receiver, so anything I view on the TV feeds digital sound to my AV system.br /br /If you’re looking for a true hidden gem, this TV probably offers the greatest value out there right now - and the Plasma is still superior to LCD at the moment.

First we bought the 42 inch vizio LCD (XVT) because of the 1080p and 120hz refresh, and it was on sale at Costco, but we found it to be annoyingly grainy, even while watching discs on our high-end Bluray machine (Sony BDP-BX1). After much deliberation and research online, we decided for the money we should be thrilled about the purchase, and so returned the Vizio to Costco (they took it, no questions asked, even without the box) and bought this Samsung plasma from Bestbuy for $100 less. The result… this is what we were looking for. We watch movies in the dark and this TV is perfect for it. No grain, crisp and beautiful. Is 1080p really that important? Or is this just more size-matters syndrome? Who knows - but this 720p plasma looks worlds better than the 1080p LCD, for less money. Go with this one!

Great TV for the price. Out of the box settings were very good. You could get a better TV for 2000 dollars, but this seems to be the best TV in this price point by a wide margin. I’ll be dropping cable now since I have a HD antenna, and the picture looks amazing! Everything is so smooth, and the color is great. I had no problem giving up the 1080p features of higher end TVs for this TV (I don’t have a blu-ray player, and it’s only 42 in so you’re not going to notice the difference hardly). Worth every penny and more.

This was one of those sight unseen purchases based upon a glowing review in Consumer Reports. It’s everything it was said to be. Razor sharp images, very nice sound from the two internal speakers (we subsequently purchased a Samsung home theater system “in a box”) and more inputs/outputs than one could possibly need. If it has one “fault” it’s the NYC size telephone directory owners manual and a remote control that I suspect has a feature to beam one aboard the mother ship (still to be confirmed). Highly recommended!

I’ve shopped for an HDTV for years..seen them all. This is the best, clearest picture I’ve ever seen. Picture rivals $3500 Pioneer I saw for half the price. No motiuon blur, good even with non HD channels!! Initial set up is a breeze. I would recommend this TV bigtime !!!

TV arrived and was set up by delivery service. The picture is perfect. My cats are afraid of it because its monstrous… which is awsome. If you hug it it keeps you warm. (yes I do hug it).

Overall the picture is great on this television—and plasma is certainly the way to go over LCD. I am very happy with the picture and feature set…although a couple of things about the menu controls are a little screwy, but they are just minor annoyances.

This set blew out on me on the 2nd day of owning it. Well it didn’t blow out completely, just left a 5″ thick vertical bar going up and down the right side of the set. And if that wasn’t bad enough, when I called Samsung they referred me to a local electronics company that specialize in fixing these sets. Well, that company didn’t have the right parts to fix the panels….Why you ask? Because Amazon sold me a set that was manufactured in Canada. Companies in the US don’t fix sets built in Canada because Canada uses slightly different parts.br /So I ended up just returning the thing and purchasing a set at BestBuy.br /br /A little info for everyone buying expensive electronics from Amazon.com. **If you live in the U.S.A. don’t except any items with a Model number that ends with a “C”. C = Cananda.

I bought this TV 2 months ago and have to say I made a right choice. At the time when I was looking for 50″ HD TV, I had researched several different and much more expensive Panasonic models. What finally helped me to decide was the visit to the local TV store to see the difference between different sets. Unless you are looking for a TV to brag about how much you have spent, you will never be able to justify to cost difference of $1,000!br /The picture quality will blow your mind and the Blu-Ray pictures will keep you glued to the screen of this TV… :-)br /Last thing is the sound quality that is somewhat average. If you really want a superior sound quality, then this model will not deliver it to you: you will need to buy an extra sound system for the total experience to be perfect. But if you are like me, you would rather spend $1,000 less knowing that you will never be able to see a much of a difference as compared to much more expensive models.

Ordered Sunday 3/28/09, got a call from CEVA on 4/1/09 saying they were going to deliver on 4/2 between 12:00 and 5:00 PM. Delivered on 4/2 at 12:15 PM. NO box damage. Delivered into room where it was going to be installed. Perfect!!!

I bought it off amazon but the seller didnt have it in stock and basically told me I wasnt getting the tv. I found it at Circuit City 40% off, the day before they closed the doors. It is an amazing TV! Just about any movie is a good one, when watching it on this tv. If I had to make a complaint, it would be the brightness. Not at all bad, I just dont like cranking the settings up to do it.

update to valid comments about my rating and opinions.br /br /THE PDP 50 NOT AS ADVERTISEDbr /br /samsung url: br /http://www.samsung.com/us/system/consumer/product/2008/05/06/pn50a650t1fxza/PN50A650_spec.pdfbr /br /is the tech. reference i was working from. see for yourselves RE: (1) 15 v 10 watts and (2) 1080p.br /br /(1) samsung specs a 15 watt sound system, not true. the sound system is the old 10 watt system.br /br /(2) 1080p? another advertizing falsie. unless there is a mystery control button the “1080P” option does not exist. maybe your cable com. offers the “p” option, but other wise forget it. on personel computers the “p” feature was a platform independent signal powerhouse waiting-to-be-used enhancement.br /br /(3) if you own the last version of the samsung plasma 50 and you want the best-of-best plasma technology - look to another vendor. keep what you have. it is still at the top 95% of the plasma TV market. wish i was fore warned about the PNP 50. i would have saved the money. there are no eyeball shaking “enhancements” on the PDP 50 that make it better that the older version and worth the extra cost.br /br /(4)your first plasma? y..e..a..h. samsung is the best first choice for now. the lie about the sound system (10W v 15W), absence of a 1080p feature, and the the toady online crap are problems samsung must address. next technology upgrade for me won’t include samsung. This showed up in my Gold Box in December (this is written in April; I wanted a chance to live with it for a while). Gee, I wonder how Amazon knew I wanted this very TV?
Price was fantastic, and White Glove delivery was great; the only hang-up–it was chilly on delivery day, and the guy couldn’t turn the set on to run down his checklist. No biggie, but it was hard to wait for the set to acclimate before getting the chance to turn it on. There aren’t enough good things to say about it. Touch of color is very subtle and the clear band around the edge of the bezel is cool. After dialing back the settings for a break-in period (say what you will, I felt better doing it), I calibrated the set and am still amazed at the picture. High Def sources are excellent (over-the-air and U-Verse’s HD signal). Even component 480p out of the DVD player looks great. No Blu-Ray yet; waiting for another Gold Box deal. The sound isn’t world class, but I knew that going in and have a very nice amp and speakers for when it matters. Love this set–not like, love!

First one we received had a strange defect - It’d randomly start scanning for channels. Samsung support couldn’t solve it on the phone, so a service call was arranged. We’d just received the TV, so I emailed amazon that night and was contacted by morning. No questions asked, they were sending a new TV. Talk about prompt service.br /br /Ceva had delivered the first one and a few days later they were back with its replacement. Painless.br /br /After just over a month of ownership, we’re really smitten with this TV. Beautiful picture quaility, easy to navigate controls. If I were doing this all over again, I’d buy the same TV.br /br /Thanks for the exemplary service, amazon.
