Overall the picture is great on this television—and plasma is certainly the way to go over LCD. I am very happy with the picture and feature set…although a couple of things about the menu controls are a little screwy, but they are just minor annoyances.

I saved up all of last summer to buy an LCD or Plasma TV. I finally decided on this model, and after half a year, I am sure I made the right call. I have it connected to an HDTV cable box, a PS3, and a wii, and everything looks incredible. When I was browsing through Best Buy, I couldn’t even tell a difference between 1080p and 720p in a set of this size, so sticking with the 720p is a great way to save.br /br /My one complaint would be that sometimes it seems like there is a small flash of white, or at least a lighter color, when a scene shifts to something really dark. Maybe that’s because I don’t have everything set up perfectly, but it’s really a minor inconvenience.br /br /Long story short - this is a great looking TV set that is affordable and reliable, even 6 months later. I highly recommend it.

After owning 1 1/2 years, it started turning itself off (not coming back on). Bought the extended warranty, so I should be good. But it is a hassle to give up the TV to a repair shop for over a week when the TV is practically new. It was a bit disheartening to have to send a $2000 TV to the repair shop in less than 2 years. I won’t buy this kind of TV again.

We purchsed HP-R4252 in Dec 2005 - we play it avg 20hrs / week over last 3 years. Completely satisfied. The picture is as good as any (but I’m not a comparison expert) and the TV works well. We kept our old ‘non-digital’ in spare room and I can hardly stand to look at it now. The TV Hooked up to computer very well / nice 1028×768 display. We’re getting ready to add blue-ray this Xmas (2008) and we’re pleased that TV has 1080i option - although manual says 720p is ‘optimal’. The biggest downside for us is that it consumes 600watts of power - $20/month or $240/year where we live - compared to projection 50″ my friend bought at 60watts (1 tenth = $2/month or $24/year).

I’ve owned this tv for 6 months now,and I’m very satisfied with the picturebr /quality and options.The sound could be better but is fine when using Onkyobr /reciever.Picture quality for video games and dvd playback is excellent.My HD Direct TV picture looks awesome on this unit.There is some glare from br /lighting in the house or the sun, but its not as bothersome as some other tv’s.I have had no problems with this tv.Everything works as it should.br /I would highly recomend this tv to anyone looking for the best picture,biggest size,and best price.After all,thats why I bought it!

Ordered Sunday 3/28/09, got a call from CEVA on 4/1/09 saying they were going to deliver on 4/2 between 12:00 and 5:00 PM. Delivered on 4/2 at 12:15 PM. NO box damage. Delivered into room where it was going to be installed. Perfect!!!

This was one of those sight unseen purchases based upon a glowing review in Consumer Reports. It’s everything it was said to be. Razor sharp images, very nice sound from the two internal speakers (we subsequently purchased a Samsung home theater system “in a box”) and more inputs/outputs than one could possibly need. If it has one “fault” it’s the NYC size telephone directory owners manual and a remote control that I suspect has a feature to beam one aboard the mother ship (still to be confirmed). Highly recommended!

I had a total budget of $1,000. I wanted to get the most for my money. It’s easy to get the best TV (when money is no object) but very difficult to find the best value. At the end of the day, I selected this Samsung TV…with money left over to buy a blu-ray player.br /br /The bottom line is that this is a great TV for the price. The fact is, on screen sizes smaller that 50″, 1080p is not a big deal. And although this is a plasma and not an LCD, plasmas have some advantages versus LCD TV’s (the blacks are “blacker”, for instance). Finally, you can get a 40-42″ 1080p LCD TV for less than $1000 but it’s basically junk (at least as of today…but I’m sure that’ll change in time). This is a solid product from a solid manufacturer so you cannot go wrong…and I’ll be enjoying it for years to come.br /br /Football is a whole new experience in HD. This TV is basically idiot proof…it looks good out of the box. Now the blu-ray technology is a bit of a different story.br /br /In all fairness, the other TV to check in this price range–which is a great TV also–is the Panasonic TH-42PX80U. Which ever one you choose, enjoy!
